Tomato Girl is the hottest emerging aesthetic this summer, that we are obsessed with. This viral trend is largely inspired by the Mediterranean coast. Think summertime in Italy, soaking in the sun with an ice-cold glass of Aperol Spritz, eating plates of olives in a 1950’s floaty linen dress with soft styled hair and a basket full of fresh vegetables by your side. This trend encompasses earthy tones such as white, tomato red, hunter green and lemon yellow. This look has been spotted on the likes of Hailey Bieber, Bella Hadid, Dua Lipa and Billy Eilish.
Our designer created a one-of-a-kind print to use in our accessories collection tailored for the Tomato Girl Aesthetic.
Kaela, began sketching and painting out the vision to bring the ingredients of this trend to life. The goal was to capture the essence of freshness and a golden Italian summer.
Our talented designer chose to embrace the art of handcrafting. The paintings evolved into a limited edition collection that seamlessly blended fashion and the natural allure of the Mediterranean summer.
To achieve the Tomato Girl aesthetic a selection of different items were used including strawberries, lemons and berries, sea shells and the mouth watering Aperol Spritz drink to brings the Tomato Girl theme to life.
Once all of the individual items were painted, Kaela played around with the placement and design on photoshop to create the final print pattern.
Using this pattern we created the initial CADs for our core accessory shapes and the sampling begun!
After months of dedication and hard work, it was time to craft this stunning fabric into the ultimate Tomato girl accessories collection.
The collection includes our printed cotton bucket hat, knotted tote bag and satin bandana all using our limited edition print design.
As well as using the key Tomato girl colours for other products in this collection including our oversized lace scrunchies, beaded headbands and woven bags.
Each accessory was thoughtfully designed for our customer to embrace the vibrant but soft colours and playful aesthetic.
